This is a solo episode where I’m reflecting on 2019 and realigning with new intentions for 2020.

Instead of a New Year’s resolution, I choose a few words as intentions – and then I apply them to my life. It’s more about how I want to feel instead of goals. When I align in this way, I end up creating more serendipity and ease with my life and business.

Let’s go to the show!

Chandresh acknowledges darkness and light, lust and love, rebels and rule makers, and all facets of the human spirit. He’s a modern-age spiritual advisor who encourages people to flourish as their true selves.

Chandresh hails from a lineage of seven generations of Indian spiritual healers and is a disciple of his father, His Holiness Shree Chamunda Swami, who is a universally recognized authority in spiritual healing. Initially bound to the financial world, he attended Zicklin School of Business in New York. Upon graduating, he pursued his passion for unleashing human potential with the help of meditation. Chandresh's experiences lend to his teaching philosophy, which combines ancient wisdom with a modern approach to spirituality.

A speaker and author, Chandresh is the author of bestselling book Break the Norms (which by the way has a foreword by his holiness Dalai Lama) to help people rethink everything they know about the world around us.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Chandresh's journey from a Wall Street exec to a spiritual advisor
  • how to have the courage to live your Truth and trust the unknown
  • the power of gratitude

We also discuss:

  • Why simplicity is necessary on the spiritual path
  • How to plant the seed that waters the feminine
  • Gender expression and more

Today I’m joined by someone who aligns with my mission for Higher Consciousness and Utopia, Alexandra Cousins.

Alex’s passion has always been in health and human optimization. From the age of 5 she was obsessed with finding out what was the source of disease. She grew up believing that so much more was possible for humanity and with a deep innate connection to the Christ Consciousness. Alex’s past is deeply varied -having studied Ayurveda and Yoga in India in her 20s, working in some of the top spas in the world, as well as stints in high fashion, and deep dives into the world of African and South American shamanism.

Looking back, she realizes how her own suffering and illness was the greatest teacher – propelling her to keep pushing the edges to carve a radical new way of being. Her teachings are a very unique amalgamation of shamanism, mysticism, a deep understanding of the human body through her studies of Ayurveda and Natural Hygiene; steeped deeply into Christ consciousness and the knowing, that we as a species are evolving beyond what we ever thought possible.

Everything Alex teaches, she lives -fully without compromise whilst constantly evolving and refining the process. Alex is a true pioneer in her field and has the ability to guide people through massive transformations and healings in the most elegant and deeply authentic way. Her ways are simple -she works totally intuitively and with full presence with the focus of giving her clients a first-hand experience of what it feels like to become the embodiment of their Divine and highest selves.

Jim Rutt is a complexity researcher, systems thinker, podcaster, and former key player in several technology companies. The New York Times once referred to him as "the Internet's bad boy" due to his reputation for creative mischief. Jim is the past Chairman of the Santa Fe Institute, former CEO of Network Solutions, and the first CTO of Thomson-Reuters.

We discuss the divide between fixing the institutions and fixing ourselves - and why the real work is in fixing ourselves through self-actualization, Jordan Hall's Game A vs. Game B and what it takes to be a Game B "vulcan spartan" early adopter.

Note: We use adult language in this episode.

Mitch has written on everything from the war on witches to the secret life of Ronald Reagan for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Salon, Time.com, and Politico.

The Washington Post says Mitch “treats esoteric ideas and movements with an even-handed intellectual studiousness that is too often lost in today’s raised-voice discussions.”

Mitch has discussed alternative spirituality on CBS Sunday Morning, Dateline NBC, NPR’S All Things Considered, CNN, and throughout the national media. He received the 2019 Walden Award for Interfaith/Intercultural Understanding. The Chinese government has censored his work.

In this interview, we discuss:

My guest today aligns with my mission for authenticity and Being Human, Jeff Brown.

Born in Toronto, Canada, Jeff Brown did all the things he was supposed to do to become successful in the eyes of the world. He was on the Dean's Honor List as an undergraduate. He won the Law and Medicine prize in law school. He apprenticed with top criminal lawyer Eddie Greenspan. It had been Brown's lifelong dream to practice criminal law and search for the truth in the courtroom.

But then, on the verge of opening a law practice, he heard a little voice inside telling him to stop, just stop. With great difficulty, he honored this voice and began a heartfelt quest for the truth that lived within him. Although he didn't realize it at the time, Brown was actually questing for his innate image, the essential being that he came into this lifetime to embody. He was searching for his authentic face.

As part of his journey, Brown surrendered to his confusion and explored many possible paths. He studied Bioenergetics and did session work with co-founder Alexander Lowen. He practiced as a body-centered psychotherapist. He completed an MA in Psychology at Saybrook Graduate School in San Francisco and co-founded the Open Heart Gang, a benevolent gang with a heartfelt intention. He started his own business and became a successful entrepreneur.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Why the inner work is the most important work that he's done
  • Is spiritual bypassing a necessary part of the process?
  • Why self-avoidance masquerading as "enlightenment" is causing people to commit suicide

The last time James and I talked on my podcast was four years ago!

James Altucher has started and ran more than 20 companies and is currently an investor in & advisor to over 30, but at one point, James lost everything. In a matter of months, his account drained from $15 million to $143. Depressed and on the floor, James realized that today's standard view of success comes with conditions and the only way to be truly successful and fulfilled is to “Choose Yourself.” Now, James Altucher is a bestselling author, successful entrepreneur, angel investor, chess master, and host of The James Altucher Show podcast.

In this interview, we also discuss:

• How to get out of your own way and prevent the same failures from happening again

• How comedy and writing have transferrable skills

We also discuss:

• An experiment that he did with 50 Shades of Grey called “How to satisfy a billionaire”

• Our shared experience of minimalism/buying/purging and why you should never have a mortgage

• The deprogramming that’s necessary as an entrepreneur

• The benefits of having a traditional publisher vs. self-publishing

Towards the end of this interview, we talk about the brand safety of working with a mainstream publisher - which is something that I’m shooting for right now! My new book is going live with my crowdfunding literary agency, Publishizer.  If you liked my first book, you will LOVE this next one. It’s called Myth, Meaning and Marketing: How the Emotion of Story Creates Your Reality and it’s available for pre-order. I’ll put the link in the show notes.
